Is a Leaky Roof an Emergency?

Yes, roof leaks are an emergency.  If water is entering the building it must be stopped as soon as possible because water damage continues to spread and get worse.  The longer you ignore a roof leak, the worse it gets and the more damage it does.

Temporary Roof Repairs

When an active leak is present the first goal for a roofing technician is to stop the leak.  This is to prevent further water damage.  Typically a temporary repair will be made to block water ingress.  This is not a permanent repair. A temporary repair is still a vulnerability in the roof. It is important to get a permanent repair done when conditions are ideal.

What if leak is reported After Hours?

Detail Roofing is available twenty-four hours a day, every day of the year. We know roof leaks do not make appointments which is why we are always available to contain them.  Whether it’s during office hours or not the phone number you call is the same.  There is always someone on-call to dispatch and a roofing technician to attend.

What Can Residents do While They Wait for a Technician to Arrive?

You can instruct residents to contain the water with buckets, pots, or bowls: Anything they have that can hold the water so it doesn’t damage their floors, carpets, furniture, etc. It is important that they don’t try to investigate the leak themselves because this is unsafe and can cause the leak to get worse resulting in more damage.
